Alexander Mcqueen, le enfant terrible, is one of my favourite designers. Not as if I can afford his creations and not that his exquisite designs blend in with my way of life, but his artistry and technique is to be marvelled. The drapery, construction and textures of his designs!

But the nerve to call your boss, who is also the chairman of LVMH, irrelevant! I love that brazen daring!

I have always been privy to Matthew Williamson’s dresses. And I went slightly buzzy in the head when my ex colleague emailed me about the Singapore Fashion Festival 2008 where his designs will be featured on the catwalk.

Perhaps I could do a book night of the great classics and ordain the dress code as 1920s. Maybe I should do a F. Scott Fitzgerald night! It’s so Great Gatsby I cannot take it.

I am a big fan of the vintage peasant flare skirt - how it accentuates the female form and cinches the waist.

So now, to look around for good dressmaking classes so that I can learn to draft my own patterns and make my own skirts!
